Can I use the Speaker to play music?

Yes, you can. It will be loud.

Can I change the sound when in Drive?

Yes, you can change the sound at any time, even when driving.

Is the Speaker compatible with my car?

Glydsphere is designed for all EVs. Sophisticated algorithms intelligently translate phone motion into EV diagnostics for real-time performance sound. If you own an OBDLink MX+, Glydsphere reads data directly from your EV available for all Tesla models*. There are plans to include further EV brands and models in upcoming releases. *Available for Tesla Model S and X manufactured after 2021 and all Tesla Models 3 and Y regardless of manufacture date.

Where do I place the Speaker?

The Speaker is designed to go in the frunk of your EV. With dimensions of 21.6 x 13.8 x 6.3 inches, the Speaker fits in all Tesla models and almost all EVs in the market.

Is it legal to play loud audio?

All EVs are required to have sound for pedestrian safety. Control the volume through your phone to match your surroundings.

Is the App included with the purchase of the Speaker?

Yes. You will have lifetime access to the App, its feature updates, and new sound releases for free.

What tools do I need to mount the Speaker to my car?

None, zero, nada. Just your glorious hands and the Glydsphere manual for reference.

How do I turn the Speaker on and off?

Once you connect the external power bank to the Speaker, you can use the remote control to power it in the comfort of your front seat. You can also turn the Speaker on and off by pressing the power button on the Speaker directly.

How do I control the volume of the Speaker?

Set the master volume on the Speaker itself. Fine-tune the volume using your phone’s volume buttons and the App’s volume slider.

How long does the battery charge last?

It takes 3 hours to fully charge the battery. Once fully charged, you can enjoy 4.5 to 6 hours of non-stop playtime at full volume. This translates to 1.5 weeks of battery life on average when driving twice a day.

Can I use the Speaker’s external power bank to charge my device(s)?

Yes, you can. Only use it if the power bank’s output meets the requirements of your device(s). DC output: 12V/4.2A & 50W USB-A output: 5V/3A; 9V/2A; 12V/1.5A & 18W USB-C output: 5V/9V/12V/15V/20V-3.25A & 65W

App FAQ

How much is the App?

The App is free for customers who own the Glydsphere Speaker, forever. Otherwise, for the price of a coffee or a meal you can access a library of 40+ audios with regular new releases. The subscription service costs $3.99 per month or $29.99 per year (29% saving).

What sounds do you offer?

We have a wide range of over 40 EV high-performance sounds. We categorize our diverse audio range into three types. Iconic engine are exhaust sounds from classic sports cars. All-time shows are ageless sci-fi vehicle sounds from movie and TV shows. Futuristic are state-of-the-art vehicle sounds such as spaceship audio and beyond. Our audio library is regularly improved and new sounds are added in every app update.

Can I create my own sounds and upload them on the App?

Yes, you can. You have exclusive access to the sound sets you make unless you share your QR code. There is no limit to the number of sounds you can make subject to your phone’s storage capacity. Learn how to create your own sounds.

I want to use my phone and the App at the same time, how can I make it work?

The Glydsphere App works with all iOS and Android devices. You can use an old phone for the App to free up your current phone for day-to-day use, and it will work perfectly.

Some sounds in the App are locked. How do I access them?

You can unlock these expansive sounds once you collect enough spheres. You collect spheres by using the App when driving. Once the sound is unlocked it is forever yours.

Does the App respond to my car’s acceleration and deceleration?

Yes, that’s exactly what it does in real time. Take it further by connecting OBDLink MX+; the App reads precise signals such as EV speed and gas pedal position, allowing you to rev in Park.

How do I ensure the App reads my car motion precisely?

For best performance, every time you start your ride attach your phone to a car phone holder and choose the performance audio while in Park. Keep your phone attached for the duration of the drive. You can change the sound as many times as you’d like even in Drive. If you have an OBD Link MX+ you can bypass the above guide.

 

3rd Party Tech FAQ

How do I set the OBDLink MX+ and Creative BT-W3 up?

Both devices require an easy initial pairing with your phone and after the initial pairing will connect automatically with your device. Check out these 2 easy tutorial videos: OBDLink pairing video and Creative BT-W3 pairing video

Can I use other OBD tools?

The App currently works with the OBDLink MX+ only.

Can I connect the speaker through Bluetooth instead of using the Creative BT-W3 audio transmitter?

Yes, you can use Bluetooth but we encourage against it for car motion audio. Creative BT-W3 uses superior aptX LL Technology which is highly recommended for a seamless, delay-free audio driving experience. However, if you use the speaker to playback music Bluetooth is sufficient. 

Do you work with OBDLink and Creative Labs?

We don't have any commercial association with OBDLink or Creative Labs. We discovered during testing that these two brand's products work best with most devices and provide top notch quality.

Can I submit a custom request?

Yes, we provide support to customers with custom requests. Contact us with your specific request, and our team of experts will be in touch.

How long does delivery take?

Your purchase is fulfilled minutes after your order and shipped on the same day. Delivery time typically ranges from 2–7 business days.

What is Glydsphere’s warranty period?

Your new Speaker comes with a one-year limited hardware warranty. If you need help, contact us.

What is Glydsphere’s return policy?

You may return the Speaker within 30 days of purchase, with shipping costs funded by the buyer. You will receive a refund to your original payment method within 15 business days.

Why can’t I hear any sound?

First, check that the Speaker master volume is set at an appropriate level. Then, check that your phone is not in silent mode. For iPhones, check that the switch to the side is not set to orange. Finally, turn up the volume on your phone.
